Robert "Coach P" Person isn't a newcomer to Huntsville City Schools. He's spent his entire career inside them, serving students, supporting teachers, and building champions.

His Story
A Career Built in the Classroom and on the Field
For three decades, Robert Person has been a fixture in Huntsville City Schools. First as a classroom teacher, then as a coach who built winning programs and, most importantly, shaped young men and women of character. His players didn't just learn the game; they learned discipline, teamwork, and how to show up when it matters.
As Athletic Director, Coach P oversaw programs, managed budgets, coordinated staff, and served as a bridge between students, parents, and school administration. He knows how schools work from the inside, and the challenges teachers face. He's acutely aware of the resources students need, and the decisions that shape a district's future.
Now, Coach P is taking that experience to the Huntsville City Schools Board of Education. He's bringing the same commitment he brought to every practice, every classroom and all of Huntsville City Schools' students.

Why He's Running
The Board Needs Someone Who Has Lived It
Coach P has seen firsthand what happens when schools are well-resourced and when they aren't. He's watched great teachers leave because they felt unsupported. He's seen students fall through the cracks when the system fails to prioritize them. He's running for the Board of Education because he believes Huntsville's students deserve a voice on the board who has actually walked the halls, coached the teams, and earned the trust of this community over 30 years of service.
